Mit „Sapori Italiani“ hat Frauke van Bevern ein Manuskript vorgelegt, das die Seele, das Land und die Küche Italiens mit seinen liebenswerten Menschen auf kurzweilige Art beschreibt. Die Autorin ist dem Südeuropäischen Land seit ihrer Kindheit zutiefst verbunden. Sie liebt die Küche, die Sprache und die Menschen. Nicht zuletzt deswegen spricht sie fließend Italienisch und bereitet für ihr Leben gern die mediterrane Küche zu. Während eines mehrmonatigen Sabbaticals reiste sie durch den Stiefel, von Sizilien bis Südtirol. Dabei durchquerte sie die meisten der so abwechslungsreichen Regionen und verliebte sich jedes Mal aufs Neue in das Land, das weltweit für Pizza und Pasta gefeiert wird. Auf ihrer Reise traf sie Nonnas und Mamas, mit denen sie kochte und von denen sie die Lebensgeschichten hörte und die Rezepte notierte, meist filmte und fotografierte. Die selbsternannte Italienfluencerin ließ ihre Follower in den sozialen Medien an ihrer Reise teilhaben und hat nun alles aufgeschrieben – ihre emotionalen Begegnungen, die köstlichen Rezepte, ihre Sicht auf die italienische Seele und in ihre ganz persönliche.
